Amanda the Adventurer is a fun adventure game that might just have you peeking over your shoulder and worrying about the things that go bump in the night. The cute graphics and colorful backgrounds make you think this is a kid's game, but once you get into it, you'll realize why adults love it just as much.

The game introduced you to Amanda and her trusty sheep as soon as it loads. You play Amanda as she comes across a series of tapes that look like they're educational videos. Once you load one in the VCR though, you quickly learn that these are horror tapes. Amanda the Adventurer then takes you on a full adventure through different levels that include mysterious objects and things you would never expect to see. If you make it all the way to the end, you'll find the final tape. Don't worry if you can't handle watching the final video though as many other players felt the same way.

Amanda the Adventurer does have some flaws though. One of the biggest flaws is that you only have a limited amount of options. The game only lets you pick from one of two paths, both of which take just 15 minutes to get through. Unlike similar horror games that have special features or areas you can unlock, this one shows you what you get once it loads and does not introduce anything new.

Another issue that many players complained about was the ads. Some players even claimed that they couldn't get the game to load, that it started playing an ad as soon as they opened it and then wouldn't let them move forward. Even if you get through the first ad, you'll see even more as you play. Not only do ads run before and after each video, but they even pop up in the middle of videos.

This is a game designed for people who want to recreate the nostalgia they had playing games as a kid. Amanda and her little four-legged sheep friend might remind you of classic Nintendo characters and the characters you saw in other older video games. It is also quite easy to play and doesn't require much of a time commitment. As long as you have 15-20 minutes free, you can play Amanda the Adventurer and get all the way to the end. While the name and early graphics might make you think this is just another kid's game, it's much more than that. Amanda the Adventurer draws you into an adventure world filled with mystery and wonder that will appeal to horror fans of all ages.
